A Case of Thymus Tumor Presenting with Leukemic Blood Profile

Abstract

This study presents a rare case of thymus tumor in an 18-year-old male patient, accompanied by a leukemic blood profile. The patient exhibited mediastinal tumor syndrome, atypical lymphoid cells in peripheral blood, and lymphoblastic infiltration in bone marrow. Autopsy confirmed the presence of thymus tumor and leukemic infiltrations. The case suggests the possibility of leucosarcomatosis due to lymphosarcoma cells entering the bloodstream, resembling Sternberg’s description of lympho-leuko-sarcomatosis.

Lösemik Kan Tablosu Gösteren Bir Thymus Tümörü Vakası

Abstract

Bu çalışma, 18 yaşındaki bir erkek hastada görülen thymus tümörünün lösemik kan tablosu ile birlikte seyrettiği nadir bir vakayı sunmaktadır. Hastada mediasten tümörü sendromu, periferik kanda atipik lenfoid hücreler ve kemik iliğinde lenfoblastik infiltrasyon gözlenmiştir. Otopside thymus tümörü ve lösemik infiltrasyonlar doğrulanmıştır. Vakada lenfosarkom hücrelerinin kana karışmasıyla oluşan leucosarcomatosis olasılığı değerlendirilmiş, Sternberg’in tanımladığı lenfo-leuko-sarkomatozis ile benzerlik gösterdiği belirtilmiştir.
