Kataral İkter, İnfeksiyöz Hepatit ve Homolog Serum Sarılığı
Abstract
Flindt and others claimed that catarrhal jaundice actually results from damage to liver cells. Autopsies of soldiers who died with jaundice in World War I showed no changes in the duodenum or bile ducts, but degenerative disorders were found in the liver parenchyma. With the widespread clinical use of liver function tests, it became accepted that catarrhal jaundice is actually a hepatocellular jaundice. Thus, the term “catarrhal jaundice” was partially abandoned in favor of names like “simplex,” “hepatitis,” and “hepatoz.” Occasionally, catarrhal jaundice appeared in widespread epidemics, and this epidemic form was considered a separate entity from sporadic catarrhal jaundice.
