Descendant Mesocolon Cyst: A Rare Case Report

Abstract

This study presents a rare case of a descendant mesocolon cyst in a 62-year-old male patient treated at İzmir State Hospital III. Surgical Department. The patient presented with complaints of abdominal swelling, pain, and difficulty in urination. Examinations and radiological imaging revealed a large cystic mass in the left mesocolon region, leading to surgical intervention. During the operation, the cyst was excised from the mesocolon, and histopathological examination diagnosed it as an "enterocystoma." Mesenteric and mesocolon cysts are rare, and their clinical and surgical features are discussed in the context of literature. This case highlights the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to this rare pathology.

Descendant Mezokolon Kisti: Nadir Bir Olgu Sunumu

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, İzmir Devlet Hastanesi III. Hariciye Servisi'nde tedavi edilen 62 yaşındaki bir erkek hastada tespit edilen nadir bir descendant mezokolon kisti olgusu sunulmaktadır. Hasta, karında şişlik, ağrı ve idrar yapmada zorluk şikayetleriyle başvurmuştur. Yapılan muayene ve radyolojik incelemeler sonucunda sol mezokolon bölgesinde büyük bir kistik kitle tespit edilmiş ve hasta cerrahi müdahaleye alınmıştır. Ameliyatta kist, mezokolondan ayrılarak çıkarılmış ve histopatolojik inceleme sonucu "enterocystoma" olarak tanı almıştır. Mezanter ve mezokolon kistlerinin nadir görüldüğü, klinik ve cerrahi özellikleri literatür eşliğinde tartışılmıştır. Olgu, bu nadir patolojinin teşhis ve tedavi yaklaşımlarına ışık tutması açısından önem taşımaktadır.
