Organik Cıva Bileşiklerinin Çevremizde Yarattığı Sağlık Tehlikeleri

Abstract

Ankara'ya 40-50 km mesafede bulunan 45 tohum ilaçlama istasyonunda işyeri sanitasyonu ve çalışanların fungisit olarak kullanılan organik cıva bileşiklerine maruz kalmaları sonucu oluşan sağlık tehlikelerini değerlendirmek amacıyla araştırmalar yapılmıştır. İşyeri havasındaki ortalama cıva konsantrasyonunun (Y 0,12 mg Hg/m3) hijyen standartlarının üstünde olduğu bulunmuştur. İşçilerin 24 saatlik idrarındaki ortalama Hg konsantrasyonu (Y 156 ug Hg/Lt. idrar) ve kontrol grubu ortalaması (u 8 lig Hg/Lt. idrar) ve iki ortalama arasındaki farkın (n 73, t 3,3, P < 0,001 değerine göre) oldukça anlamlı olduğu bulunmuştur. Diş eti iltihabı 0/0 55 oranında ve ellerde toksik dermatit 0/0 16 oranında gözlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlar selektör işçilerin yüksek oranda maruz kaldıklarını ve çalışma koşullarının sağlıkları açısından istenmeyen düzeyde olduğunu göstermektedir.

Health Hazards Posed by Organic Mercury Compounds in Our Environment

Year 1972, Volume: 25 Issue: 4, 728 - 743, 31.12.1972

Abstract

Investigations were conducted at 45 seed treatment stations spread over a distance of 40-50 km from Ankara to assess workplace sanitation and the health hazards of employees due to exposure to organic mercury compounds used as fungicides. The average mercury concentration in workplace air (Y 0.12 mg Hg/m3) was found to be above hygiene standards. The mean Hg concentration in the 24-hour urine of the workers (Y 156 ug Hg/Lt. urine) and the control group mean (u 8 lig Hg/Lt. urine) and the difference between the two means (n 73, t 3.3 according to the value P < 0.001) were found to be highly significant. Gingivitis was observed at a rate of 0/0 55 and toxic dermatitis on the hands at a rate of 0/0 16. These results show that the selector workers were highly exposed and that the working conditions were found to be undesirable in terms of their health.
