Abstract
1957-1961 yılları arasında Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi
İkinci İç Hastalıkları Kliniğinde yatarak tedavi gören 2 kronik myeloid
ve 11 akut lösemi vak'asında 6-mercaptopurine tatbik edilmiştir.
Akut myeloblastik lösemi teşhisi konup 6 mercaptopurine tedavisi
tatbik edilen 7 hastanın 5 inde salâh ve 2 sinde vefat görülmüştür.
Akut lenfoblastik lösemili 3 hastanın ise 2 sinde salâh ve 1 inde
vefat husule gelmiştir. Kronik miyeloid lösemili 3 vakaya gelince 2 sinde salâh ve 1 inde
vefat müşahade edilmiştir, Böylelikle 6 mercaptopurine tedavisi gören
13 vak'anın 1 inde salâh ve 4 ünde vefat müşahade edilmiş olup elde
edilen remisyon nisbeti %65 civarındadır. Bu netice akut myeloblastik,
akut lenfoblastik, ve kronik myeloid lösemi için eşit değerler
arzetmektedir.

Abstract
Clinical results from 6-mercaptopurine in the treatment of leukemia. During a four-year period (1957–1961), 6-mercaptopurine was administered to 13 leukemia patients (11 acute, 2 chronic myeloid) at the Second Medical Department of Ankara Medical School. Among acute myeloblastic leukemia cases, 5 showed remission and 2 died. In acute lymphoblastic leukemia, 2 patients responded positively while 1 died. In chronic myeloid leukemia, 2 patients achieved remission and 1 died. Overall, 11 out of 13 patients showed clinical improvement, indicating a remission rate of approximately 65%. The drug was well tolerated, with minimal side effects and no significant hemorrhagic complications.
