The assessment of residual myocardial viability in infarcted areas is relevant for subseguent patient management, particularly for establishing the need for a revascularization procedure but reguireş expensive technics. We aimed to obtain the same result with a simple test, Fourteen patients (all male, aged 36-59) with 'T wave pssudonormalization on the exercise electrocardiogram (ECG) were studied. Al patients had previous myocardial infarction (MD). Six patients had anterior/septal MI and 8 had inferior MI, Treadmill exercise test, thallium-201 exercise myocardial scintigraphy and coronary angiography were performed. In the infarct-related areas, a reversibl perfusion defect was observed in 2 of the 6 patients with anterior/septal MI, andin 5 of the 8 patients with inferior MI, Our results suggest that, in patients with previous MI, T wave pseudonormalization on the exercise ECG may indicate the presence of residual myocardiagl viability in the infarcted arcas,
