Abstract

Arastirma, A.U. Tip Fakiultesi Park Egitim Saghk Ocagi bélgesindeki 40 yas lizeri niifustan secilen örneklem üizerinde, 372 kiside aclik kan sekeri tayini yapmak suretiyle yirtttilmustiir, Diabet prevalensi % 13.44 bulunmustur. Hastahk prevalensinin yasla arttifi, kadin / erkek oraninin 1.84 oldugu; ailede diabetli olmasi, 4 kg. dan fazla agirlkl gocuk dogurma, obezitenin diabet icin risk fakterleri oldugu, diabetlilerde sistolik kan basincinin yüksek oldugu sağlanmiştır. Aynica diabetlilerin % 72.7’sinin kan şekerinin kontrol altinda olmadigi saptanmis ve topluma yapilacak saglik egitimi ve tarama calismalarmin énemi vurgulanmistir.

Diabetes Survey in the Population Above the Age of 40 in the Area of the Park Health and Education Center

Abstract

The study has been carried out by determining fasting blood glucose level on 372 persons selected from people aged 40 and over living at the surrounding of Ankara University, Faculty of medicine Park Health and Education Center. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus is 13.44 percent in the population studied. It has been found that the disease prevalence is increased with the age; the ratio of female/male is 1.84; the risk factors are existence of diabetic members in family, delivering a child who has birth weight more than 4 kg and obesity on the otherhand, the systolic blood pressure has been observed to be high in the diabetic group. It has also been noticed that the blood glucose is not under control in 72.7 percent of the diabetics and the importance of health education and survey is stressed in the study.
