Surgical Treatment of Congenital Pes Equino Varus

Abstract

The clubfoot is considered as a serious deformity among the congenital anomalies. Before starting thc troatmcnt of this deformity, orthopaedic surgeon should inform the child's parents about the nature of deformity type and duration of treatment. The best way to treat this deformity js the closed reduction of the dislocated talocalcaneonavicular joint. However, if patient resists the concervative treatment or if he/she is older than 18 months, surgical treatment should be applied. In Dept. of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, Medical Faculty University of Ankara, we surgically treated 181 feet in 138 cases between 1982 - 1987, The youngest patients was 3 months old and the oldest one was 8 years old. In general the surgical results that we obtained were considered succesful.

Doğuştan Pes Ekuino Varusun Cerrahi Tedavisi

Abstract

Pes ekuino varus doğmalık ayak anomalileri içinde önemli bir yer tutar. Bu deformitenin tedavisine başlamadan önce ortopedist çocuğun ailesine deformitenin natürü, tedavi şekli ve süresi hakkında aydınlatıcı bilgiler vermelidir, Deformitenin ideal tedavisi disloke talokalka- 116 neonaviküler eklemin kapall redüksiyonudur. Ancak buna dirençìi olgular ile 18 aydan sonra gelen olgularda cerrahi tedavi uygulan malldlr. 1982 - 1987 Ylllarl araslnda Ankara (jniversitesi TIP Fakültesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Anabilim Dalmda 138 olgunun 181 ayagma cerrahi girisim uygulanrn1St1r. En küçük yas 3 ay, en büyük yas 8 yas idi. Cerrahi tedaviden elde edilen sonuçlar basarlll olarak dežerlendirilmistir.
