Skin and basophil degranulation test to house dust by modified Shelley test and total and house dust specific IgE by ELISA were determined in 20 patients with allergic bronchial asthma complained from house dust and nonatopic healthy controls. Raised IgE levels were found in asthma patients studied. Out of 10 patients with a positive skin test with house dust, 10 had a positive basophil degranulation test, 8 had specific IgE antibodies in the sera. Positive basophil degranulation and specific IgE was identified in only one patients showed negative skin test to house dust allergen. It was discussed that basophil degranulation test can be used because of a simple, reliable and practical invitro technique for studying reaginic allergies.

Astmali hasta grubunda total IgE yüksek degerlerde saptandi. Allergenlerin saptanmasmda bazofil degrantilasyon testinin invitro, basit, giivenilir ve pratik bir yöntem olmasi açısından uygulanabilirligi tartisildi.
