Abstract

This case series presents six patients diagnosed with multiple myeloma, each with distinct clinical manifestations observed over a two-year period at Ankara University Medical Faculty. The cases include presentations such as acute renal failure, hepatosplenomegaly with bone pain, hemorrhagic syndrome with severe anemia, painful bone tumors, myeloma-associated amyloidosis with hypogammaglobulinemia, and vertebral destruction mimicking metastasis. Each patient underwent laboratory investigations including hemograms, myelograms, serum/urine electrophoresis, imaging studies, and cytological bone marrow assessments. Diagnostic features and pathological findings were discussed to highlight the clinical variability in multiple myeloma.

Six Cases of Multiple Myeloma Exhibiting Different Clinical Presentations

Abstract

Bu vaka serisi, Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi I. İç Hastalıkları Kliniği’nde iki yıl içinde tanısı konulan altı multipl myelom vakasını sunmaktadır. Vakalar farklı klinik tablolar ile ortaya çıkmıştır: akut böbrek yetmezliği, hepatosplenomegali ve yaygın kemik ağrısı, hemorajik sendrom ile derin anemi, kemik tümörü ile seyreden ağrı, hipogamaglobulinemi ve Bence-Jones proteinürisi ile seyreden amiloidozlu myelom vakası ve 10. dorsal vertebrada destrüksiyon ile metastazı taklit eden form. Tüm vakalara hemogram, myelogram, serum/idrar elektroforezleri, kemik iliği sitolojisi ve radyolojik tetkikler uygulanmış, bulgular vaka bazlı tartışılarak multipl myelomun klinik çeşitliliği vurgulanmıştır.
