Abstract

Abstract
In this retrospective study, the effects of different anesthesia methods on postoperative mortality were evaluated in 69 patients with obstructive jaundice. While one group received general anesthesia, the other group received epidural anesthesia. A mortality rate of 25.4% was observed in the general anesthesia group, whereas no deaths occurred in the epidural group. These findings suggest that epidural anesthesia may be a safer option for patients with obstructive jaundice. However, due to the limited number of cases and the lack of detailed laboratory data, further studies are required.
