Histology of the Pineal Organ and Status of the Concrements in White Rats

Year 1961, Volume: 14 Issue: 6, 1 - 16, 31.12.1961

Abstract

1. The ultrastructure of the pineal organ of white rats was investigated in this study, and the status of the concrements was discussed.
2. Materials were obtained from 48 male and female white rats of various ages and 8 human subjects.
3. According to the results obtained: a) The rat pineal can be divided into superior (dorsal) and inferior (ventral) parts, but there is no demarcation between them. The superior pineal is characterized by a loose arrangement of vacuolar cells with abundant cytoplasm and a small number of glial filaments; the reverse is true for the inferior pineal. Sinusoids are present.
b) Cyanophilic material in the nucleoplasm of parenchymal cells is considered nuclear secretory.
c) Chrome alum hematoxylin-positive cells are identical to secretory gliosomes.
d) Intercellular arborescent fibrous (PAS-positive) material is present in the pineal glands. In no case is the concrement absent.
5. As in many mammals and humans, the pincal organ in the rat is always active and has an endocrine activation effect that affects not only the gonads but also various metabolic activities.

Beyaz Sıçanlarda Pineal Organın Histolojisi ve Konkrementlerin Durumu

Year 1961, Volume: 14 Issue: 6, 1 - 16, 31.12.1961

Abstract

1. Çalışmada beyaz sıçanların pineal organının ince yapısı araştırılmış,
konkrementlerin durumu tartışılmıştır.
2. Erkek ve dişi muhtelif yaşlı 48 beyaz sıçan ve 8 insan materyelinden
faydalanılmıştır.
Sinuzoidler mevcuttur.
b) Parenkim hücreleri nukleoplazmasındaki siyanofil materyel çekirdek salgısı olarak kabul edilmiştir.
c) Chrome alum hematoxylin poziti. hücreler secretoire gliosome'lara identiktir.
d) İnterselluler ar.iro.il .ibröz (PAS poziti.) materyel kâhillerde mevcullur. konkrement hiçbir vak'ada yoktur.
