Abstract

Bu yazı, menarşdan kısa süre sonra memelerinde ani ve aşırı büyüme gelişen 16 yaşında bir kız vak'asını sunar. Memeler 30 × 30 × 15 cm boyutuna ulaşmış, meme başları silinmiş, areolada pigmentasyon gerilemiş, ülseratif ve iltihabi değişiklikler görülmüştür. Yapılan biyopsi; stromada fibröz proliferasyon, epitelde hücre artışı ve asiner yapıların belirginleşmesini göstermiştir. Vaginal smear östrogenik etkinliğin devam ettiğini doğrulamıştır. 7 kez 50 mg’lık testoviron enjeksiyonu ile büyüme durdurulmuş, memeler tedavi sonrası normale dönmüştür. 3 yıllık takipte dokular fizyolojik hacmine erişmiştir.

True Mammary Hypertrophy: A Rare Case of Adolescent Breast Enlargement

Abstract

The article describes a 16-year-old girl exhibiting extraordinary, rapid breast enlargement starting shortly after menarche. Measurements reached 30 × 30 × 15 cm per breast, with areolar regression, skin ulceration, and local inflammation. Histopathology revealed fibrous stromal expansion, increased ductal structures with epithelial proliferation, and mild acinar development — confirming true mammary hypertrophy rather than adipose pseudohypertrophy. Vaginal smear indicated continued estrogenic stimulation. Therapy with seven injections of 50 mg testoviron every three days successfully halted further growth and reversed hypertrophy. Follow-up after three years showed return to normal breast size.
