Effüzyonlu Otitis Media’larda Etyoloji, Tanı ve Tedavi Yöntemleri Üzerinde Klinik Araştırma

Year 1982, Volume: 35 Issue: 1, 263 - 274, 31.03.1982

Abstract

A Clinical Research on the Etiology, Diagnosis, and Treatment Methods of Otitis Media with Effusion

Year 1982, Volume: 35 Issue: 1, 263 - 274, 31.03.1982

Abstract

This study evaluates 86 cases of otitis media with effusion who were admitted to the ENT Clinic of Ankara University Faculty of Medicine between 1979 and 1982, focusing on etiological, clinical, and diagnostic aspects. Adenoid hypertrophy, infections, and allergic factors are considered in the etiology; diagnostic tools like pneumatic otoscopy, microscopic examination, and impedance measurements are emphasized. In treatment, a combination of paracentesis, tube insertion, and adenoidectomy is found to be the most effective method.
