Mesane Yabancı Cismi Olarak Termometre: Bimanuel Manipülasyonla Transüretral Ekstraksiyon

Abstract

Bu olgu sunumunda, mesaneye dışarıdan sokulmuş nadir bir yabancı cisim olan termometrenin transüretral yolla, açık cerrahiye gerek duyulmadan bimanuel manipülasyon tekniği ile çıkarılması anlatılmaktadır. 23 yaşındaki bir kadın hastada, daha önce vajinaya yerleştirilen termometrenin mesaneye kaçtığı tespit edilmiştir. Sistoskopi ile mesanede enine konumda yerleştiği gözlenen termometre, suprapubik bölgeden ve vajinal tuşeyle yönlendirilerek sagital duruma getirilmiş; ardından ucunun uretra ağzından dışarı çıkartılması sağlanmıştır. Kısa sürede ve kansız olarak gerçekleştirilen bu işlem, literatürde daha önce bildirilmeyen özgün bir teknik olup, mesane yabancı cisimlerinin tedavisinde alternatif bir yaklaşım sunmaktadır.

Thermometer as a Foreign Body in the Bladder: Transurethral Extraction via Bimanual Manipulation

Abstract

This case report describes the transurethral extraction of a rare foreign body—a thermometer—from the bladder using a non-surgical bimanual manipulation technique. In a 23-year-old female patient, the thermometer had accidentally migrated from the vagina into the bladder. Cystoscopy revealed it positioned transversely across the bladder walls. Through combined suprapubic and vaginal palpation, it was reoriented sagittally, and its pointed end was guided to emerge through the urethral opening. This bloodless and rapid procedure represents a novel technique not previously documented in the literature, offering an alternative strategy for managing foreign bodies in the bladder.
