Abstract

Small bowel torsion occurs when the small intestine rotates at least 90 degrees. This rotation compresses the nerves and blood vessels in the mesentery, impeding the passage of intestinal contents and causing symptoms of ileus. Sometimes, the torsion can reach up to 720 degrees, leading to severe ileus symptoms. Small bowel torsion can be partial (involving one or several bowel loops) or total (entire small intestine rotated). Partial torsion is more common and often seen in the terminal part of the small intestine.

Abstract

İnce barsak torsiyonu, ince barsağın en az 90 derece dönmesiyle ortaya çıkar. Bu dönme, mezanterdeki damar ve sinirlerin baskı altında kalmasına yol açar ve barsak geçişini zorlaştırarak ileus semptomlarına neden olur. Torsiyon bazen 720 dereceye kadar ulaşabilir, bu durumda ileus belirtileri daha ağır olur. İnce barsak torsiyonu parsiyel (sadece bazı barsak segmentleri dönmüş) ya da total (ince barsağın tamamı dönmüş) olabilir. Parsiyel torsiyon daha yaygındır ve genellikle terminal ince barsakta görülür.
