Abstract
Bu makale, Dr. F. Nafiz Uzluk'un 1949 yılında Hamburg Tropeninstitut'da verdiği iki dersin notlarını içermektedir. Makalede, Uzluk'un Hamburg'a yaptığı seyahat, enstitüdeki arkadaşları ve hocası Prof. Dr. A. Marchionini ile geçirdiği zaman anlatılır. Uzluk, derslerinde Türkiye'deki tropik ve subtropik hastalıkları ele alır. Türkiye'nin coğrafi konumu, nüfusu, yönetim şekli, sağlık sistemi ve doktor sayıları hakkında bilgiler verir. Ayrıca, veba, kolera, tifo, dizanteri, sıtma ve trahom gibi çeşitli hastalıklarla mücadele yöntemlerini ve bu hastalıkların Türkiye'deki durumunu detaylı bir şekilde açıklar. Makale, Uzluk'un insanlığın barış içinde yaşaması ve salgın hastalıklarla mücadelenin önemine dair evrensel mesajlarıyla son bulur.

Abstract
This article contains the notes from two lectures given by Dr. F. Nafiz Uzluk at the Hamburg Tropeninstitut in 1949.
