Alzheimer Hastalığının Tedavisinde Terapötik Bir Müdahale: Anımsama Terapisi

Abstract

Demansın en yaygın karşılaşılan türü olan Alzheimer hastalığının yaşlanma ile birlikte görülme sıklığı artmaktadır. Alzheimer yaşlılık döneminde karşılaşılan en yaygın psişik hastalıklardan biridir. Bilişsel işlevlerde meydana gelen bozulmalar zamanla ilerlemekte ve zamanla hasta bireyler günlük kişisel ihtiyaçlarını karşılayamaz duruma gelmektedir. Cümle kurmada yaşanan sorunlar ileriki aşamada iletişim sorunları yaşanmasına neden olmaktadır. Alzheimer vaka sayısının her geçen gün artmasıyla birlikte, sosyal çalışmacılar gerek yaşlı bakım merkezlerinde gerekse de hastanelerde daha sık bir şekilde Alzheimer hastaları ile karşılaşmaktadır. Sosyal çalışmacılar, Alzheimer tipi demans hastaları ve aileleri ile psikososyal terapiler, sanat terapisi, anımsama terapisi, destek grupları, bilişsel davranış terapisi gibi müdahaleleri gerçekleştirebilir. Anımsama terapisi, benlik saygısını artırmak, sosyal izolasyonu ve depresyonu azaltmak ve yaşlı nüfusta rahatlık sağlamak için etkili bir müdahale yöntemidir. Bu makalede anımsama terapisinin Alzheimer hastalarında kullanımının önemine vurgu yapılması amaçlanmıştır.
