Abstract

Kitabımızın adı; “Borcun Feminist Reddi”. Yazarları ise “Verόnica Gago & Lucí Cavallero” dur. Her iki yazarın ortak yönü ise araştırmacı yönleriyle neoliberal politikaların yaşam hakları ve emek sömürü üzerindeki etkisini, şiddetin yönlerini ve kayıt dışı sermaye ve borç konusunda çalışmalar üretmiş olmalarıdır. Kitabın genel konusu kadın emeğinin görünmezliğinin yanında, hane halkına ait borcun kadın üzerindeki baskısını, ödeme yükümlülüğü ile baş başa kaldığı durumların etkisini oluşturmaktadır. Kadının hane içindeki emeğinin sömürüldüğü toplum düzeninde evin reisinin (tabiriyle) aldığı borçları ödeyemediği ya da eril kişinin hane halkının geçimini sağlayamadığı durumlarda kadının evi geçindirebilmek için nelere maruz kaldığı, kitapta yapılan röportajlarla desteklenmiştir. Literatüre katkısı sadece ev işi, yaşlı ve çocuk bakımı, işletilen bir toprak varsa onun ekimi biçimi şeklinde değil de günümüzde birçok haneyi mağdur eden bankaların, sansarların ya da gündelik geçimi sağlamak için etrafa yapılan borcun… kadın emeği ya da bedeni üzerinden sömürüsünü vurgulamaktadır.

Feminist Rejection of Debt

Abstract

The title of our book is “The Feminist Rejection of Debt.” The authors are Verónica Gago & Lucí Cavallero. What both authors have in common is that, as researchers, they have produced studies on the impact of neoliberal policies on the right to life and labor exploitation, the dimensions of violence, and informal capital and debt. The general theme of the book is the invisibility of women's labor, alongside the pressure of household debt on women and the effects of situations where they are left to deal with the burden of repayment. The book uses interviews to support its argument that in a social order where women's labor within the household is exploited, when the head of the household (so to speak) cannot pay his debts or when the male cannot support the household, women are exposed to certain things in order to support the household. Its contribution to the literature is not only in terms of housework, caring for the elderly and children, or farming if there is land to be cultivated, but also in highlighting the exploitation of women's labor or bodies through banks, loan sharks, or debts incurred to make ends meet, which today victimize many households.
