Abstract
This research examines the dependents in Arabic through a study of their functional meanings and structural characteristics, The study comprises an introduction, a prelude, two main chapters, and a conclusion. In the introduction, I presented the research title, subject, rationale, and the adopted research plan. The prelude undertook the theoretical groundwork by analyzing certain terms, including Arabic dependents, functional meaning, and characteristics. The two chapters were devoted to an applied study: Chapter One focused on the functional meanings of the dependents, which include: descriptive or attributive, emphatic, substitutive, and conjunctive-coordinative, Chapter Two addressed the structural characteristics of Arabic dependents, categorized into three sections: Structural characteristics, Positional characteristics. Relational characteristics, The research concluded with a summary outlining findings derived from the study, followed by a list of sources and references consulted, I endeavored to employ a descriptive-analytical approach in studying Arabic dependents, exploring their functional meanings and structural characteristics.
