Dwight Conquergood ve Ortak Performans

Abstract

Dwight Conquergood performans çalışmaları alanında antropoloji, tiyatro ve sosyal adalet disiplinlerini birlikte inceleyen ufuk açıcı bir etnograf, aktivist ve sanatçıydı. Yürüttüğü saha çalışmalarında ve yazdığı makalelerinde dışlanmış toplulukların yaşanmış deneyimlerini araştırdı ve performans aracılığıyla azınlıkların seslerini yükseltmek için hem uygulama hem de kuramsal çerçevede özgün çalışmalar üretti. Bu makalenin konusu Conquergood’un felsefesinin temel ilkelerinden biri olan beden odaklı bilgi üretimi ve etnografyada dinamik etkileşimleri vurgulayan co-performance (ortak performans) kavramıdır. Conquergood’un performans çalışmalarına katkılarını ve ortak performans anlayışı ile beden odaklı bilgi üretme pratiğine etkilerini değerlendirmeyi amaçlıyorum. Akademide beden odaklı analizin eksikliğine vurgu yaparak ortak performans anlayışı ile kinetik süreçlerin önemini nasıl savunduğunu inceleyeceğim.
