Abstract

Borderline personality disorder can be defined as a syndrome with an imbalance in
feelings which generally appears with problems in interpersonal relations and
impulsivity patterns. This study includes a case formulation and supervision process in
psychotherapy at the end of the fifteen sessions of a client named D. who indicates
borderline personality disorder pattern. D.. is a 37 years old, high school graduated
single mother who is of medium height and weight, well cared and works as a cleaner.
In the first part of the study, demographic information, previous treatments, family and
social life, education and work life, strengths and weakness of the client, as she
declared, has been presented in a detailed way. Then, the relationship between
therapist and client, psychotherapy process and the techniques which are benefited as
a part of the relevant psychological tests and evaluation of findings within the context
of cognitive behavior therapy have been undertaken as a treatment strategy. Finally, in
the personality assessment section, it was discussed how this assessment has an effect
on the client, examining stages of the therapy and developments, the client's
achievements, and the points that need to be addressed in the long run in the context
of therapy. Thus, it is aimed to provide a different perspective on the disorder and the
pspsychotherapy process from the characteristics of a borderline personality disorder.

Sınır (Borderline) Kişilik Bozukluğu: Bir Vaka Çalışması

Abstract

Sınır kişilik bozukluğu, genel olarak kişilerarası ilişkilerde süreğen bozulmayla beliren
duygulanımda dengesizlik ve birtakım dürtüsellik örüntülerinin eşlik ettiği bir
sendrom olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Bu çalışma, sınır (borderline) kişilik bozukluğu
örüntüsü gösteren D. isimli danışanın 15 seans sonunda ele alınan vaka formülasyonu
ve psikoterapide süpervizyon sürecini içermektedir. D., 37 yaşında, lise mezunu, orta
boylu, hafif kilolu, kendine bakımı yerinde bekar bir anne olup temizlik görevlisi olarak
çalışan bir kadındır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde danışanın demografik bilgileri, önceki
tedavisi, aile ve sosyal yaşantısı, eğitim ve iş hayatı öyküsü, kendisinin ifade ettiği zayıf
ve güçlü yönleri gibi bilgiler ayrıntılı olarak sunulmuştur. Ardından terapist ile danışan
arasında kurulan ilişki, psikoterapi süreci ve bilişsel davranışçı terapi kapsamında
ilişkili psikolojik test ve değerlendirme bulguları çerçevesinde yararlanılan teknikler
tedavi stratejisi olarak ele alınmıştır. Son olarak, kişilik değerlendirmesi bölümünde bu
değerlendirmenin danışan üzerinde nasıl bir etkisinin olduğu, terapi aşamalarının ve
gelişmelerin incelenmesi, danışanın elde ettiği kazanımlar ve terapi kapsamında uzun
vadede ele alınması gereken noktalar tartışılmıştır. Böylece bir sınır kişilik bozukluğu
vakasının özelliklerinden yola çıkılarak bozukluk ve psikoterapi süreci hakkında farklı
bir bakış açısı sunmak amaçlanmıştır.
