The word Salname derives
from the Persian language and it is consisted of two words: sal which means year and name meaning requisition or
book. Salnames were called the works that included the events of a year.
Salnames are one of the most important archival sources for the last period of
Ottoman Empire related to the socio-cultural and socio-economic resources.
