Abstract

The Balkans, Balkanians and the Balkanization
concepts, in 19th Century, depending on the changing world system has emerged
as an alternative definition of a piece of land away from Europe. In a sense,
these phrases are developed as a project of othering, formed the basis of a
factual framework of the region over time. In this context, literary texts and
literature has emerged as a highly effective weapon. This study is one of the
most striking mentioned texts developed in the context of where the author and
will examine the character of Bai Ganyo.

Abstract

Balkanlar,
Balkanlılık ve Balkanlaşma kavramları 19. yüzyılda değişen dünya sistemine
bağlı olarak alternatif bir Avrupa uzak
karası
tanımlaması olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. Bir ötekileştirme projesi olarak gelişen bu tabirler zamanla bölgeye
dair olgusal bir çerçevenin de temelini oluşturdular. Bu sırada edebi metinler
ve literatür oldukça etkili bir silah olarak karşımıza çıktı. Bu çalışma, bahsi
geçen metinlerin en dikkat çekicilerinden biri olan Bay Ganyo karakterini
yazarı ve geliştiği ortam bağlamında inceleyecektir.
