In the spring of 1969 pistiles of apple flowers were killed by the low temperatures of -0.2℃ and -1.8℃ in Yalova and Bursa orchards respectively. So, the flowers became pale and dropped down even though blooming appeared to be normal. Heavy rains also caused apoplexies in some poorly drained orchards.
