Abstract
Bu makale, Marmara Bölgesi için yeni patlıcan çeşidi "Yalova 59"un tek bitki seleksiyonunu ele almaktadır. Bu çeşit, populasyon karakteri gösteren yerel Gönen patlıcan çeşidinden seçilmiştir. Bu çeşidin meyvelerinin bazı önemli özellikleri şunlardır:
1. Kırmızı-mor kabuk rengi,
2. Beyaz ve yumuşak et,
3. Silindirik şekil,
4. 25-30 cm uzunluk ve 5 cm kalınlık,
5. Tohumlar küçük ve az miktardadır.

Abstract
This article deals with the single plant selection of new eggplant variety "Yalova 59" for The Marmara Region. This variety was selected from local Gönen eggplant variety which shows a population character. Some of the important particularities of fruits of this strain:
1. Red-violet color of skin,
2. White and soft flesh,
3. Cylinder shape,
4. 25-30 cm length and 5 cm thickness,
5. Seeds are small and less in quantity.
