Marmara Bölgesindeki Kavun ve Karpuz Yetiştiriciliğinin Bugünkü Durumu, Sorunları ve Öneriler

Öz

Marmara Bölgesinde Balıkesir, Bursa, Çanakkale. Edirne, Sakarya, Tekirdağ il ve ilçelerine bağlı 34 köyde 63 kavun-karpuz üreticisi ile "Anket Formu" kullanılarak, tohum ekiminden haşata kadar geçen süre içinde üç ayrı devrede görüşülmüş ve bölgede kavun-karpuz yetiştiriciliğinin bugünkü durumu tespit edilmiştir. Üreticilerin işgücü potansiyelinin değerlendirilmesi, tohum, izolasyon, organik ve inorganik gübreleme, sulama, hastalık ve zararlılarla mücadele, hasat ve pazarlama, girdi temini sorunları tartışılarak, çözümleri için öneriler ileri sürülmüştür.

The Status of Melon and Watermelon Growing in Marmara Region at Present and its Problems and Recommendations

Abstract

The survey "Questionnaire" forms have been carried out among 63 melon and watermelon growers in 34 villages belonging provincial and sub-provincial areas of Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Edirne, Sakarya and Tekirdağ in Marmara Region. The survey covered three-steps from seeding till harvest and results showed that 37 types of melon and 29 types of watermelon are being grown in the region. At the end of this result of questionnaire, "Süleymaniye, Konyabeyi, Tatarkırkağacı, Hasanbey, Kırkağaç and Hıdır" varieties of melon, "Charleston Gray, Crimson, Sweet, Klondike, Washington and Sugar Baby" varieties of watermelon were determined which were more important for growing. However, the other types of watermelon and melon have lost their own types. Some of the types which have still got their natural characteristics species can be used in breeding studies after selection.
