Farklı Melezleme Kombinasyonları ile Sıcak Suda Bekletme Uygulamasının Çilek Tohumlarının Çimlenmesi Üzerine Etkileri

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, farklı melezleme kombinasyonlarından elde edilen çilek tohumlarının çimlenme oranı ve süresi üzerine sıcaklık uygulamasının (40℃’de 60 dakika) etkisi araştırılmıştır. Melezlemelerde yüksek verimli ve sert meyve etli çilek çeşitleri (Sabrosa ve Fortuna) ana ebeveyn, aromalı ancak orta düzeyde meyve et sertliğine sahip çilek çeşitleri (Ebru, Kaşka ve Sevgi) tozlayıcı ebeveyn olarak kullanılmıştır. Uygulamalar arasındaki farklar, istatistiksel olarak önemsiz bulunmuş olmakla birlikte, sıcaklık uygulanmış çilek tohumlarında çimlenme oranının (%34) kontrol uygulamasından (%30) nispeten daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, çilek tohumlarında ilk çimlenme, ekim tarihinden 10 gün sonra görülmeye başlamış ve 30 gün boyunca devam etmiştir. Kombinasyonların çimlenme oranları arasındaki farklar istatistiksel olarak önemli bulunmuştur. En yüksek çimlenme oranı %48 değeri ile Fortuna × Sevgi kombinasyonundan elde edilirken, en düşük değer %18 ile Sabrosa × Ebru kombinasyonunda belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, çilek ıslahçıları için büyük önem taşımaktadır.

Effects of Various Crossing Combinations and Hot Water Treatment on Strawberry Seed Germination

Abstract

In this study, effects of hot water treatment (1 hour at 40°C) on seed germination and duration of various strawberry crossing combinations were studied. In the crossing programmed; having highly yield and firm flesh fruits of strawberry varieties (Sabrosa and Fortuna) were used as mother while aromatic and moderately firm varieties (Ebru, Kaşka and Sevgi) as a pollinator. According to the obtained results, heating treatments were not found to be statistically significant. However, hot water treatment increased relatively germination percentage (34%) compared to the control (30%) treatment. As a result, germination was observed 10 days after sowing date and continued during the 30 days. The variation of germination combinations was found to be statistically significant. The highest germination percentage obtained by the Fortuna × Sevgi combination (48%) while the lowest Sabrosa × Ebru (18%) combination. Obtained results has a big importance for strawberry breeders.
