Türkiye’de Yetiştirilen Bazı Yerel Soğan (Allium cepa L.) Genotiplerinin Morfolojik Özellikleri

Abstract

Soğan (Allium cepa L.), insan beslenmesinde yüksek öneme sahip olan ve dünyada en çok üretilen sebzelerden bir tanesidir. Ülkemiz soğanın anavatanı olan ülkeler içerisinde yer almakta olup günümüzde bitki gen kaynaklarına sahip olmanın önemi ve bu kaynakların doğal yaşam alanlarının tahribi sonucu kaybolma tehlikesi altında olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu nedenle genetik kaynakların korunması ve taşıdıkları özelliklerin tespit edilmesi büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışma ile ülkemizde farklı bölgelerde yetiştiriciliği yapılan 113 adet soğan genotipinin bazı morfolojik özellikleri belirlenerek kayıt altına alınmıştır. Toplam 21 özellikte yapılan ölçüm ve gözlemlere göre, genotiplerin %28.3’ünde tek baskın büyüme noktasının var olduğu, ortalama baş ağırlıklarının 14-270 g arasında değiştiği ve genotipler içerisindeki baskın kabuk renginin 62 genotipte rastlanan “İspanyol Turuncusu” olduğu tespit edilmiş olup ülkemizin soğan çeşitliliği bakımından zengin olduğu anlaşılmıştır.

Morphological Characteristics of Some Local Onion (Allium cepa L.) Genotypes Grown in Turkey

Abstract

Onion (Allium cepa L.) is one of the most produced vegetables in the World and it has great importance to the human nutrition. It is naturally grown in Turkey and today it is well known that the importance of having plant genetic resources and the risk of losing them. Therefore, conservation of genetic resources and determination of their properties have a great importance. In this study some morphological characters of 113 onion genotypes which are grown in different part of Turkey and preserved in Atatürk Central Horticultural Research Institute, determined and recorded. According to measurements and observations made by 21 characters, 28.3% of the genotypes have only one dominant growing point, the average weight of the head ranged between 14-270 g and dominant color of the shell found "Spanish Orange" for 62 genotypes.
