Soğan (Allium cepa L.) Islah Programı İçin Aday Hatların Oluşturulması

Abstract

Diğer sebze türlerine göre soğan ıslahı oldukça zor ve uzun zaman gerektiren bir süreçtir. Bu çalışmada, Atatürk Bahçe Kültürleri Merkez Araştırma Enstitüsü’nde yürütülmekte olan soğan (Allium cepa L.) ıslah programı kapsamında, aday hatların oluşturulmasına yönelik yapılan çalışmalar hakkında genel bilgiler verilmiştir. Çalışmanın materyalini Türkiye’nin farklı bölgelerinden toplanan ve soğan gen havuzunda devamlılığı sağlanan 96 genotip oluşturmaktadır. Islah programı için genetik çeşitlilik morfolojik veriler üzerinden yürütülen analiz çalışmalarıyla belirlenmekte, aynı zamanda moleküler belirteçler kullanılarak genotiplerin akrabalık düzeyleri ortaya konmaktadır. Elde edilecek bulgular ışığında, karakterizasyonun etkinliğini değiştirmeden kullanılacak morfolojik karakter sayısının azaltılması ve soğan ıslah programı için çekirdek koleksiyonun oluşturulması hedeflenmektedir.

The Development of Candidate Inbred Lines for Onion (Allium cepa L.) Breeding Program

Abstract

As compared to other vegetable crops, the process of onion breeding is very difficult and requires long-term period. In this study, general information about establishment of breeding lines on onion breeding program at Atatürk Central Horticultural Research Institute were shared. The plant material of study was totally 96 genotypes collected from different regions of Turkey and maintained by Onion GenBank at the Atatürk Central Horticultural Research Institute. The genetic variability for breeding program is determined using morphological data. Also, genetic similarities of genotypes were determined using molecular markers. In the light of findings, it was aimed that reduce of morphological character amount without changing the effectiveness of the characterization, and establishment of core-collection for onion breeding program.
