2012 ve 2013 yılları arasında Iğdır ilinin Tuzluca ilçesine bağlı Hamurkesen vadisi bölgesinde yer alan köylerde yürütülen bu çalışmada yaklaşık 500 ceviz ağacı incelenmiş ve ön incelemeler neticesinde 47 genotipten meyve örnekleri alınmıştır. Araştırmada incelenen 47 genotipte meyve ağırlığı (g), iç ağırlığı (g), iç oranı (%), kabuk kalınlığı (mm), meyve eni (mm), meyve boyu (mm), meyve yüksekliği (mm) gibi pomolojik özellikler ile kabuk rengi, iç rengi, kabuk pürüzlülüğü, için bütün çıkma durumu, meyve şekli ve meyve iriliği gibi fiziksel özellikler incelenmiştir 2 yıl süreyle yapılan değerlendirmeler sonucunda, genotipler tartılı derecelendirmeye tabi tutulmuş ve 7 ceviz genotipi ümitvar olarak seçilmiştir. Bu genotiplerin kabuklu meyve genişlikleri 30.67-34.75 mm kabuklu meyve yükseklikleri 29.75-35.52 mm, kabuklu meyve uzunlukları 31.7844.38 mm, kabuklu meyve ağırlıkları 10.12-13.22 g, iç meyve ağırlıkları 5.00-6.07 g, iç oranları %40.01-52.63 ve kabuk kalınlıkları 1.46-2.46 mm arasında bulunmuştur.
In this study which was conducted in the villages located in the region of the valley Hamurkesen under Tuzluca district of the province Igdir between 2012 and 2013, approximately 500 walnut trees were examined and fruit samples from 47 genotypes were taken as a result of preliminary examinations. Pomological characteristics such as fruit weight (g), kernel weight (g), kernel ratio (%), shell thickness (mm), fruit width (mm), fruit length (mm), fruit height (mm) and physical characteristics such as fruit shell color, kernel color, shell roughness, status of kernel as whole, fruit shape, and fruit size were investigated for 47 genotypes examined in the study. As a result of evaluations carried out for 2 years, genotypes were subjected to weighted rating and 7 genotypes of walnuts were chosen as promising. It was found that in these genotypes, shelled fruit widths were 30.67-34.75 mm, shelled fruit heights were 29.75-35.52 mm, shelled fruit lengths were 31.78-44.38 mm, shelled fruit weight were 10.12-13.22 g, kernel fruit weight were 5.00-6.07 g, kernel ratio were 40.01-52.63%, and shell thickness were 1.46-2.46 mm.
