Bazı Kudret Narı (Momordica charantia L.) Genotiplerinin Bafra Koşullarında Açıkta ve Örtü Altındaki Performansları

Year 2016, Volume: 45 Issue: (Özel Sayı 1) 7. Ulusal Bahçe Bitkileri Kongresi, 405 - 409, 31.03.2016

Abstract

The Performances of Some Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia L.) Genotypes in Open Field and Protected Cultivation at Bafra Condition

Year 2016, Volume: 45 Issue: (Özel Sayı 1) 7. Ulusal Bahçe Bitkileri Kongresi, 405 - 409, 31.03.2016

Abstract

This study was carried out the determination of the performances of some bitter melon genotypes at open field and protected cultivation in Bafra condition. In this research, 15 genotypes selected from Bafra (2), Tokat (2), Rize (1), Yalova (2), Bursa (2), Adana (2), Antalya (2) and Mersin (2) province were cultivated in open field and greenhouse (plastic). In open field, average fruit weight (74.9-110.8 g), average fruit length (10.0-14.7 cm), average fruit diameter (4.3-5.5 cm), average fruit number (9.2-17.5 number/plant), and marketable yield (8731621 g/plant) was changed according to the genotypes. These values were 91.5-136.9 g, 13.4-17.2 cm, 4.6-6.2 cm, 13.1-22.0 number/plant and 1501-2440 g/plant in greenhouse, respectively. In both open field and greenhouse, the heaviest fruit and the greatest yield were obtained from Bursa 2 (110.8 and 136.9 g) and Yalova 2 (1621 and 2440 g/plant), respectively. As a result, bitter melon was suggested as a alternative vegetable crop for greenhouse in autumn season cultivation, especially.
