Abstract

Türkiye’de yetiştiriciliği yapılan sert kabuklu meyve türlerinden olan kestane, üretim miktarı bakımından fındık ve cevizden sonra gelmektedir. Dünyada, 2012 verilerine göre 536.642 hektar alanda 1.998.880 ton kestane üretimi yapılmaktadır. Türkiye 63.762 ton üretim ile dünyada Çin ve Kore’den sonra 3. sırada yer almaktadır. Türkiye 2009 yılında 2.918,5 bin ton karşılığında yaklaşık 5 milyon dolarlık kestane ihracatı gerçekleştirirken 2014 yılında 11.497,1 ton karşılığında 40.2 milyon dolarlık ihracat gerçekleştirmiştir. Kestane ihracatı en fazla İtalya, Lübnan, Fransa, Almanya’ya yapılmaktadır. Türkiye’nin kestane ihracatı, üretim miktarının %18’sine ulaşmıştır. Diğer taraftan kestane üretimini, kestane dal kanseri tehdit ettiği düşünülmektedir. Ancak son yıllarda kestane kanserinin etkisinin doğal biyolojik kontrol nedeniyle giderek azalması, kestane üretim alanlarında üreticilerin bu meyveye karşı ilgisini yeniden yükseltmiştir.

Status and Exports of Chestnut In Turkey

Abstract

Chestnut is one of the hard-shelled fruit species growing in Turkey comes after Hazelnut and walnut production in terms of quantity. According to data on 2012; 1.998.880 tons of chestnut were produced at 536.642 hectares of land in the world. Turkey was 3rd order with 63.762 tonnes of chestnut production after China and Korea. Turkey exported 2.918,5 thousand tons of chestnut and $ 5 million were earned in 2009 while 11.497,1 tons of chestnut exported and $ 40.2 million earned in 2014. Turkey's chestnut exports are mostly to Italy, Lebanon, France and Germany. Chestnut export reached 18% of the production. On the other hand, chestnut production is thought to be threaten by chestnut branches cancer. But the last years due to the effects of natural biological control of chestnut branches cancer decreasing since the producer of the chestnut production area has increased the interest in this fruit again.
