Batı Anadolu'daki 28 ilden derlenen 138 adet yerel Kestane Kabağı (Cucurbita maxima Duchesne) genotipi bu çalışmanın materyalini oluşturmuştur. Genotipler morfolojik karakterizasyon ve kendileme çalışmaları yapılması amacıyla her genotipten 20 ocak olacak şekilde 13.06.2013 tarihinde Konya ili Altınekin ilçesinde tekerrürsüz olarak ekilmiştir. Çalışmada genotiplerin meyve eni, meyve boyu, meyve sap çapı, meyve sap uzunluğu, dilim sayısı, kabuk kalınlığı, meyve eti kalınlığı, SÇKM, çekirdek evi uzunluğu, lif oranı ortalamaları sırasıyla; 30.00 cm, 20.53 cm, 30.99 mm, 82.53 mm, 9.58 adet/meyve, 3.90 mm, 36.74 mm, 7.44 briks, 97.57 mm, %4.10 olarak bulunmuştur. Cucurbita maxima Duchesne genotiplerinin %81.88'inde meyve boyun kısmında eğrilik görülmemiş, meyve şekli %75.36'sında oval, %20.29'unda küre, %1.45'inde beyzi, %0.72'sinde silindirik, %2.17'sinde topaç olarak bulunmuştur. Genotiplerin %97,10'u dilimli olarak tespit edilirken meyve rengi %65.22'sinde krem, %7.97'sinde turuncu, %26.06'sında koyu yeşil, %0.72'sinde açık yeşil olarak bulunmuştur. Genotiplerin %71.01'inde kabuk ikinci rengi gözlenmezken %19.57'sinde turuncu, %7.25'inde yeşil, %2.17'sinde beyaz olarak gözlenmiştir. Genotiplerde meyve parlaklığı %58.70'inde orta, %18.12'sinde mat ve %23.19'unda parlak olarak bulunurken genotiplerin %86.23'ünde meyve et rengi turuncu, %10.14'ünde kırmızıya yakın turuncu, %3.62'sinde sarı olarak tespit edilmiştir.
138 pieces of local pumpkin (Cucurbita maxima Duchesne) genotype collected in 28 cities in Western Anatolia forms the material of this study. In order to conduct morphological characterization and inbreeding activities, the genotypes were unrepeated planted in Altınekin district of Konya on June 13, 2013 so that each genotype is consisted of 20 seedbeds. In the study, the diameter of the fruit, the height of the fruit, the diameter of the peduncle, the length of peduncle, the number of the grooves, the skin thickness, the flesh thickness, total soluble solid content (TTSC), the length of the seed cavity, and the rate of fibers were found as; 30.00 cm, 20.53 cm, 30.99 mm, 82.53 mm, 9.58 pcs/fruit, 3.90 mm, 36.74 mm, 7.44 brix, 97.57 mm, 4.10%. No curvature was seen in the neck of fruits among 81.88% of Cucurbita maxima Duchesne genotypes, the fruit was elliptic among 75.36% of them, 20.29% was sphere, 1.45% of it was elliptic, 0.72% of them was cylindrical and 2.17% of them were found peg top. It was determined that 97.10% of the genotypes was cuspidate while the color of the fruit was cream in 65.22 of them while its color was orange among 7.97% , it was dark green in 26.06% of them and light green in 0.72% of them. Among the genotypes, the color of the second shell cannot be seen in 71.01% of them, it was orange in 19.57%, green in 7.25% of them, and white in 2.17 of them. The brightness of fruit was medium in 58.70% of them, it was opaque in 18.12% of them, it was bright in 23.19% while 86.23% of the genotypes had orange flesh color, 10.14% of them was reddish orange and it was yellow in 3.62 of them.
