Abstract

The development of native varieties, which have good quality, fertile, can meet the requests of customers and can be preferred in the market, will contribute both cut flower market and the economy of the country. This study has been carried out since 15th March 2012 in Batı Akdeniz Agricultural Research Institute with the name of ’Variety Development Project of Carnation’ supported by Tubitak, the development of native carnation varieties by breeding studies and introducing them to the cut flower market were aimed. After the clonal selection, observation of promising individuals was completed, 45 spray and 5 Standard genotypes were determined as promising. These individuals were introduced to the private sector, as a result of assessments and observations with the representatives of the sector, the preparation for registration of 5 spray and 2 Standard superior genotypes was started.

Batı Akdeniz Tarımsal Araştırma Enstitüsü (BATEM)’de Karanfil Çeşit Geliştirme Çalışmaları

Abstract

Verimli, kaliteli, tüketici isteklerini karşılayabilecek ve piyasada tercih edilebilecek yerli çeşitlerin geliştirilmesi, gerek kesme çiçek sektörü gerekse ülke ekonomisine önemli katkılar sağlayacaktır. Bu çalışmada Batı Akdeniz Tarımsal Araştırma Enstitüsü bünyesinde 15 Mart 2012 tarihinden beri yürütülen Tübitak destekli ’Karanfil Çeşit Geliştirme Projesi’nde ıslah çalışmaları ile yerli karanfil çeşitlerinin geliştirilmesi ve geliştirilen çeşitlerin kesme çiçek sektörüne kazandırılması hedeflenmiştir. Çalışmada klon seleksiyonu ıslah yöntemi kullanılmış, genotiplerin gözlemleri tamamlanmış, 45 adet sprey, 5 adet standart genotip ümitvar birey olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu bireyler özel sektörün beğenisine sunulmuş, sektör temsilcileri ile yapılan değerlendirmeler ve gözlemler sonucunda ön plana çıkan 5 adet sprey ve 2 adet standart genotipte çeşit tescili ile ilgili hazırlıklara başlanmıştır.
