The aim of this study is to determine the commercial fertilizer requirements of some cut flowers grown in the Yalova Region. Chrysanthemum was selected at the first step of the study. In 1986, the studies were planned as N, P, K trials in the soil with 3 ton/da farmyard manure and each parameter were used in three different rates. The effect of N on different quality characteristics of chrysanthemum (except the length of stem) in the N experiment and the effect of P on only the weight of flower in the P experiment were statistically significant at 0.05 level. According to the results of LSD tests N₁ and P, dosages were placed in the first grope. But, the differences between the K treatments were not significant. The soil tests before planting indicated that the soil was high in K (450 ppm). So, in this trial conditions, K fertilizing is not necessary. The use of 20 kg/da N and 44 kg/da P₂O₅ on the soil with 3 ton/da farmyard manure appears to be enough during growing period of long-day Chrysanthemum for good Quality. Increasing N, P, K rates were reflected in the leaf contents of these elements slightly.
