Bazı Domates Çeşitlerinde Hasat Öncesi Ethrel, Hasat Sonrası Ethrel, Kalsiyum Karpit ve Potasyum Permanganat Uygulamalarının Olgunlaşma Üzerine Etkileri

Abstract

Bu çalışma, 1989 yılında Yalova koşullarında yetiştirilen Tobol ve Riogrande domates çeşitlerinde hasat öncesi ethrel, hasat sonrası ethrel, kalsiyum karpit ve potasyum permanganat (KMnO₄) uygulamalarının olgunlaşma üzerine etkilerini saptamak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Hasattan önce 125 ppm, 250 ppm ve 500 ppm dozlarında ethrel uygulamasıyla kontrole göre doza ve çeşide bağlı olarak 7-10 gün erken olgunlaşma saptanmıştır. Doz yükseldikçe olgunlaşan meyve oranı artmış ve Riogrande çeşidi Tobol çeşidine göre uygulamalara daha duyarlı bulunmuştur. Hasattan sonra aynı dozlarda daldırma şeklinde ethrel uygulamasıyla Tobol çeşidinde 5-6 gün, Riogrande çeşidinde 10-12 gün erken olgunlaşma saptanmıştır. Hasattan sonra kalsiyum karpit uygulamalarında ethrel uygulamalarına benzer sonuç elde edilmiştir. Hasattan sonra %2 ve %4 dozlarında KMnO₄ kullanımıyla olgunlaştırma 2-5 gün geciktirilmiştir.

Effects of Preharvest Treatments of Ethrel and Postharvest Treatments of Ethrel, Calcium Carbide and Potassium Permanganate on Ripening of Some Tomato Varieties

Abstract

This study has involved two tomato varieties namely Tobol and Riogrande grown in Yalova in 1989. That has been planned to investigate the effects of pre or postharvest treatments of ethrel and postharvest treatments of calcium carbide and potassium permanganate on fruit ripening. Ethrel application at 125 ppm, 250 ppm, and 500 ppm shortened ripening period by 8 or 10 days compared to control depending on doses and varieties at pre harvest stage. Fruit ripened rate increased with increased in doses of ethrel. Fruits of Riogrande variety was more sensitive to ethrel application than Tobol variety. Ethrel dipping and calcium carbide treatments at the same doses at postharvest stage shortened ripening period by 5 or 6 days in Tobol variety and by 10-12 days in Riogrande variety. Potassium permanganate treatments delayed the ripening by 2 or 5 days depending on doses and varieties at postharvest stage.
