Sweet and Sour Cherry Cultivars Promising for Marmara Region

Abstract

The cherry variety collection orchard consisted of 12 local, 39 foreign sweets, 3 local,4 foreign originated sour and 1 duke cherries were established at Yalova Horticultural Research Institute,
The experimental plantation under observation was situated in a climatic region characterized by no extremely dry summer nor cold winter and with practically no spring frosts.
Seedling stock (P.avium) was used as rootstock for all cultivars. The trees were planted at 6×6 m a park. Some phonological characteristics such as bud swelling, bud burst, blooming time, picking and defoliation dates were collected over -a period of 3 years. 2-3 cultivars were found promising for each ripening week (4. week 7 cvs.). With regard to picking time, size, yielding capacity, color, flavor, firmness, fruit flesh/stone, pedicel weight proportion and cracking per cent in sweet cherries. Montmorency and Kütahya cultivars were found promising out of 7 sour cherry cultivars. Selected sweet cherries for each ripening week are as follows: 1. week of ripening: Edirne, Turfanda. 2. week of ripening: S Hardy Giant, Durona di cesena, Vista. 3. week of ripening: Merton Premier, Merton Bigarreau, Berryessa. 4. week of ripening: Noir de Guben Selffertil, Van, Bigarreau Napoleon, Gaucher, Noble, Bella di Pistoia. 5. week of ripening: Karabodur, Merton Marvel. 6. week of ripening: Merton Late.

Marmara Bölgesi İçin Ümitvar Kiraz ve Vişne Çeşitleri

Abstract

Yalova Bahçe Kültürleri Araştırma Enstitüsü'nde 12 yerli, 39 yabancı tatlı, 3 yerli, 4 yabancı ekşi ve 1 duke kiraz çeşidinden oluşan kiraz çeşidi toplama bahçesi kurulmuştur.
İzlenen deneysel plantasyon, aşırı kurak yaz veya soğuk kışların olmadığı ve neredeyse hiç ilkbahar donunun görülmediği bir iklim bölgesinde yer almaktadır.
Tüm çeşitler için anaç olarak fide (P.avium) kullanılmıştır. Ağaçlar 6x6 m'lik bir park alanına dikilmiştir. Tomurcuk şişmesi, tomurcuk patlaması, çiçeklenme zamanı, toplama ve yaprak dökümü tarihleri ​​gibi bazı fonolojik özellikler 3 yıllık bir süre boyunca toplanmıştır. Her olgunlaşma haftası (4. hafta, 7. çeşit) için 2-3 çeşit umut verici bulunmuştur. Toplama zamanı, boyut, verim kapasitesi, renk, lezzet, sertlik, meyve eti/çekirdek, sap ağırlık oranı ve tatlı kirazlarda çatlama yüzdesi açısından. 7 vişne çeşidinden Montmorency ve Kütahya çeşitleri ümit verici bulunmuştur.
