Abstract

Snowball erkenci ve Winner orta erkenci karnabahar, çeşitlerinden alınan tohumlar iki gün müddetle 15-20℃’de ve 29 gün 1-5℃’de tutulmuştur. Islak tohumlar, birinci devrede çimlenmeye başlamış ve İkincisinde bir aylık kadar soğuk bir devre geçirmiştir, Neticede bu muameleye tabi tutulan Snowball %98, Winner ise %100 tohum bağlamıştır. Mukayese gayesi ile ekilen ve hiçbir muamele görmeyen aynı çeşitlerden birincisi %47, ikincisi ise %63 nispetinde tohum bağlamıştır.

Cauliflower Seed Production by Vernalization Method

Abstract

Seeds from the early-season cauliflower varieties Snowball and mid-season cauliflower varieties Winner were kept at 15-20°C for two days and 1-5°C for 29 days. The wet seeds began to germinate in the first period and underwent a one-month cold period in the second. Consequently, Snowball, which received this treatment, achieved 98% seed set, and Winner 100%. For comparison, the same varieties, planted without any treatment, achieved 47% seed set, and the second 63% seed set.
