Gemlik, Domat, Ayvalık ve Çakır yerli zeytin çeşitlerinin soğuklama ihtiyaçları incelenmiş ve Gemlik çeşidinin 600 saate ihtiyaç duyduğu, diğer çeşitlerin ise 1000 saati aştığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, 41 yerli ceviz çeşidi ve 12 yabancı pekan çeşidi de soğuklama çalışmasına dahil edilmiştir.
Domestic olive cultivars of Gemlik, Domat, Ayvalık and Çakır were investigated with respect to their chilling requirements and Gemlik was found to need 600 hrs. whereas others require in excess of 1000 hrs. Additionally, 41 domestic walnut cultivars and 12 foreign pecan cultivars were also included in the chilling study.
