BARU Journal of Sport and Human

BARU Journal of Sport and Human is an international peer-reviewed scholarly journal that accepts original and scientifically significant studies covering all areas of sport sciences. The journal also publishes special sections, including editorials, letters to the editor, discussions of problems and solutions in sport, reports and impressions from sport-related meetings, information on sport sciences associations and relevant websites, as well as reviews of articles, books, and theses. It is an online journal that adopts an open-access publishing policy.

BARU Journal of Sport and Human is published electronically twice a year, in March and October. Manuscript submissions are accepted throughout the year. The issue in which an accepted article will be published is determined according to the date on which its peer-review and editorial evaluation processes are completed.

The journal accepts scholarly manuscripts written only in Turkish or English.

The journal employs a double-anonymised peer-review system. Under this system, the identities of the authors are not disclosed to the reviewers, and the identities of the reviewers are not disclosed to the authors. Manuscripts submitted to the journal are initially screened by the editorial team in terms of their relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, compliance with the author guidelines, scientific quality, ethical declarations, and similarity rate. Manuscripts that successfully pass the preliminary evaluation are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

The journal’s publication processes are conducted in accordance with the principles of research and publication ethics, editorial independence, impartiality in peer review, transparency, academic integrity, open access, and the unrestricted dissemination of scholarly knowledge. The journal takes into consideration national and international scholarly publishing standards, principles of publication ethics, and the evaluation criteria of relevant indexing and abstracting databases. The scientific, ethical, legal, and linguistic responsibility for all articles published in the journal rests with their authors.

BARU Journal of Sport and Human adopts an open-access publishing model. All articles published in the journal are made freely available to readers immediately upon publication, without any access fee, subscription requirement, registration requirement, or embargo period.

Ethics committee approval must be obtained for research submitted to BARU Journal of Sport and Human where such approval is required under applicable ethical principles and regulations.
