The Journal of Integrative and Anatolian Medicine is an open-access, international, peer-reviewed journal scientifically supported by SBU GETAT SUAM.


The journal is aimed at researchers and educators, including health care practitioners who are interested in both traditional and integrative medicine and seek impartial and critical information about these fields.


The journal tries to connect traditional medicine with evidence-based complementary medicine through scientific foundations. In order to achieve this goal, the Journal of Integrative and Anatolian Medicine; is an innovative, international and interdisciplinary platform.

The Journal of Integrative and Anatolian Medicine is an interdisciplinary journal focusing on academic researches and clinical studies in the field of integrative medicine.


It aims to be a leading journal for studies in the field of integrative medicine and to promote communication and integration between traditional medical systems, complementary and alternative medicine, and traditional Anatolian, Chinese and European medicine. The editorial board is committed to publishing high-quality articles on integrated medicine and creating an open forum where the international scientific community can exchange views, share research and clinical experiences, discuss integrative medicine education, and talk about the issues and problems in our various disciplines. Thanks to its international scope, the journal allows for widespread handling of research and progress from all regions of the world.


Topics covered include all aspects of integrative medicine such as acupuncture and burning, traditional Anatolian medicine, Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, herbal medicine, homeopathy, nutrition, chiropractic, mind-body medicine, Taichi, Qigong, meditation and any other form.


The journal focuses primarily on original research articles that include basic science studies, systematic reviews, and randomized controlled studies, while pre-clinical and clinical studies, patient-centered efficacy studies, case series and reports, clinical trial protocols, qualitative, observational and epidemiological studies, meta-analysis, and articles regarding methodology studies can also be published in the journal. In addition, review articles can be published in the journal. Moreover, there is the possibility to publish medical history or training, conference procedures, editorials, comments, short reports, book reviews, letters to the editor, articles on health care and policy, health economics and psychology.


The types of articles include pharmacological studies, randomized controlled and pragmatic studies, review and patient-centered efficacy studies, case series and reports, clinical trial protocols, pre-clinical and basic science studies, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, and articles on methodology. There is also the possibility to publish medical history or trainings, conference procedures, editorials, comments, short reports, book reviews and letters to the editor.

Before submitting your article to the Journal of İntegrative and Anatolian Medicine, make sure to read the writing rules and publishing principles.


• Since blind referee system is applied, only the author information and notes about the article (aknowledgements, project support information, etc.) should be included on the first page of the article file; article text should start from the second page of the file.


• The study must comply with grammar rules. In the article, the latest TDK Spelling Guide should be taken as basis when using punctuation marks and while establishing the wording and abbreviations, a clear and simple way of expression should be followed, and unnecessary information that goes beyond the scope and purpose should not be included. The scientific methods valid in the preparation of the article should be followed, the subject of the study, information regarding its purpose, scope, the rationale for preparation, etc., should be provided in sufficient amount and in a certain order.


• Title: Each article should have a title in Turkish and in English. It should be short, clear and adequately reflective, and should be written in capital letters and bold.


• Abstract and Keywords: (Times New Roman 10 pt.) Turkish abstract should reflect the purpose, scope and results of the study. The abstract should be at least one hundred, at most two hundred words, and the Turkish keywords should be written one line below the abstract with at least three words and at most six words. In addition, the abstract, title and keywords should be written in the same order in English. Articles written in a foreign language should include titles, abstracts and keywords in Turkish, English and the written language. Care should be taken to avoid language mistakes in abstracts written in a foreign language.


• Body of the Text: (Times New Roman 12 pt.) Articles are preferred to be written in MS Office Word program (with .doc or .docx extension) not exceeding fifteen (15) pages for research articles and twenty (20) pages for review articles.


• Page Setup: A4 size, Margins 1.5 cm from right, left, top and bottom, Line spacing 1, Page number should be given at the bottom center of the page, TAB space should be given at the beginning of each line, excluding the summary section.


• Main titles: (Times New Roman 12 pt.) Must be written in all capital letters and should be left aligned and bold. Numbering will be made except for the INTRODUCTION and RESULTS sections.


• Figures, tables, maps and photographs: Figures, tables, maps and photographs should not extend beyond the writing area, if necessary each should be on a separate page. Figures and tables should be numbered and named in Turkish and in English according to their content. The numbers and titles should be written under the figures (centered), above the tables (aligned to the left), with only the first letters of the words capitalized in Times New Roman 12 font size.


• APA’s 6th version style for in-text citation method should be used.


• References: should be provided at the end of the article in Times New Roman font size 10.

The Journal of Integrative and Anatolian Medicine commits to abide by the Publication Ethics Committee (COPE) Code of Conduct guide available at www.publicationethics.org.

No Article Process Charging (APC) etc. is required for the articles published in the journal.
