Edremit Körfezi (Balıkesir/Türkiye) nar bahçelerinde Akdeniz meyve sineği (Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann) (Diptera: Tephritidae)’nin farklı tuzak tipleriyle popülasyon dalgalanması ve zarar oranının belirlenmesi

Abstract

Çalışma 2022–2023 yıllarında Balıkesir ili Edremit Körfez Bölgesi’nde üç adet nar bahçesinde (Edremit/Çıkrıkçı, Havran/Tekke, Havran/İnönü), Akdeniz meyve sineği, Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann) (Diptera: Tephritidae)’ın popülasyon dalgalanmasının izlenmesi ve zarar oranının belirlenmesi amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Popülasyon dalgalanmasının izlenmesinde; McPhail (DAP)+feromon, Decis ve Delta tipi feromon olmak üzere üç farklı tuzak kullanılmıştır. Tuzaklar Haziran başında asılmış, ekim sonu, kasım başı veya kasım sonuna kadar haftalık kontroller ile belirlenen sinek sayıları kaydedilmiştir. Çalışma periyodu süresince tüm tuzaklardaki toplam popülasyon 2022’de 150 adet iken 2023 yılında 6734’e yükselmiştir. 2022–2023 yıllarının genelindeki toplam çalışma periyoduna göre; Edremit/Çıkrıkçı’daki bahçede ergin yakalama ortalaması 2.08 adet/gün, Havran/Tekke’deki bahçede 19.06 adet/gün ve Havran/İnönü’deki bahçede 0.53 adet/gün olarak bulunmuştur. En fazla meyve dökümünün Havran/Tekke’deki bahçede olduğu gözlenmiştir. C. capitata’nın bahçelerdeki zarar oranını belirlemek için her iki yılda da eylül ve ekim aylarında vuruklu meyve kontrolleri yapılmıştır. İlk kontrollerde zarar oranları %0–7 arasında iken ikinci kontrollerde %10’a kadar yükselmiştir. En fazla zarar oranı 2022 yılında %4–7 ve 2023 yılında %7–10 aralığında olmak üzere Havran/Tekke’deki nar bahçesinde tespit edilmiştir. İki yıllık çalışma sonucunda Akdeniz meyve sineği erginlerinin en fazla yakalandığı tuzak %48.94 ile McPhail (DAP)+feromon iken, en az sayıda yakalandığı ise %15.02 ile Delta tipi feromon tuzak olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Determination of population fluctuation of Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann) (Diptera: Tephritidae) with different trap types and damage rate in Edremit Bay (Balıkesir/Turkey) pomegranate orchards

Abstract

The study was carried out to monitor the population fluctuations of the Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann) (Diptera: Tephritidae) and to determine the damage rate in three pomegranate orchards (Edremit/Çıkrıkçı, Havran/Tekke, Havran/İnönü) in Edremit Gulf Region of Balıkesir province in 2022–2023. Three different traps, McPhail (DAP) + pheromone, Decis and Delta type pheromone, were used to monitor the population fluctuation. The traps were hung at the beginning of June and the number of flies was recorded with weekly controls until the end of October, early November or late November. During the study period, the total population in all traps increased from 150 in 2022 to 6734 in 2023. According to the total study period in 2022–2023, the average number of adults caught in the orchard in Edremit/Çıkrıkçı was 2.08 pieces/day, 19.06 pieces/day in Havran/Tekke and 0.53 pieces/day in Havran/İnönü. The highest number of fruit dropping was observed in the orchard in Havran/Tekke. In order to determine the damage rate of C. capitata in the orchards, fruit damage controls were carried out in September and October in both years. While the damage rates were between 0–7% in the first controls, they increased up to 10% in the second controls. The highest damage rate was found in the pomegranate orchard in Havran/Tekke, between 4–7% in 2022 and 7–10% in 2023. As a result of the two-year study, it was determined that the highest number of Mediterranean fruit fly adults were caught by McPhail (DAP) + pheromone trap with 48.94%, while the lowest number was caught by Delta type pheromone trap with 15.02%.
