The Comparison Of Methods Content-Based Image Retrieval System and Image Classification Using Invariant Moments
Abstract
C# language and
Visual Studio 2012 platform are selected for developing the software for this
thesis. Back-propagation neural network was employed as the image
classification method; Euclidean distance was selected to measure the distance
in content-based classification system and finally, Emgu CV image processing
library was selected in feature extraction processes. Caltech101 data set was used
to compare the effectiveness of image classification and content-based image
retrieval systems. The results show that content-based image retrieval systems
are superior in terms of classification accuracy. Furthermore, invariant moment
shave been applied to Caltech101 data set, where all images are colourful.
Normally, these moments are employed on colourless images and extracted from the
different angles of view of the same image.
