Bovine Herpesvirus-1 (BHV-1) ve Subtipleri

Year 2020, Volume: 9 Issue: 2, 133 - 147, 25.12.2020

Abstract

Bovine Herpesvirus-1 (BHV-1) and Subtypes

Year 2020, Volume: 9 Issue: 2, 133 - 147, 25.12.2020

Abstract

Bovine Herpesvirus (BHV-1) is a latent viral infection that causes upper respiratory tract (Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis-IBR) and genital canal infection (Infectious Pustuler Vulvovaginitis-IPV, Infectious Pustuler Balanoposthitis-IPB) in cattle. BHV may cause clinical symptoms such as fever, increased respiratory rate, cough, runny nose (first serous then mucopurulent), hyperemia in nasal mucosa, sometimes conjunctivitis, increased saliva, anorexia, decreased milk yield in cattle, as well as sheep and goats, it is a common pathogen worldwide. The prevalence of this virus has been determined in virological and serological studies in our country in the past years. However, there are very few studies on molecular characterization and subtyping of the virus. In this review, detailed information about BHV-1 and its subtyping is presented.
