Abstract
Ahmet Mithat Efendi, one of the prominent people in Tanzimat reform era, was a writer who wrote many stories and novels between 1870 and 1912. The novels are unique; that is, they were written by Ahmet Mithat Efendi and he also translated them by himself. In the chapter named as “ the upper novels written and translated by Ahmet Mithat Efendi” which was published in Tercüman-ı Hakikat, these novels which he wrote from 1874 to 1885 were briefly introduced. Furthermore, this article focused that the public took an interest in his novels
Abstract
Tanzimat’ın önde gelen isimlerinden Ahmet Mithat Efendi, 1870-1912 yılları arasındaki yazı faaliyetinde pek çok hikâye ve romana imza atmış bir yazardır. Telif roman örneklerinin yanı sıra tercümeleri de bulunur. Tercüman-ı Hakikat’te yayımlanan “Ahmet Mithat Efendi’nin Telif ve Tercüme Yollu Yazdığı Büyük Romanlar” başlıklı yazı dizisinde yazarın 1874’ten 1885 yılına kadar yazmış olduğu telif ve tercüme romanları kısaca tanıtılmış ve halkın bu romanlara gösterdiği ilgi üzerinde durulmuştur
