Assessment of Event Quality in Major Spectator Sports: Single-item Measures

Abstract
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to check validity and reliability of Assessment of Event Quality in Major Spectator Sports: Single-Item Measures scale developed by Ko et al. (2021). Sample of the study were 241 female and 129 males, totally 370 volleyball spectators who attended Volleyball Nations League 2023 organized in Antalya. Age range of the participants was 16 to 68 years (M= 28.10, SD=13.46). To check validity of the scale, explanatory (EFA) and confirmatory (CFA) factor analysis were used. Test-retest and Cronbach alpha coefficient methods were utilized for reliability check of the scale. Results of the scale which was adapted to Turkish culture showed that 11 items representing 11 sub-factors was approved as in the original form of the scale. As a conclusion, it was determined that the scale of Assessment of Event Quality in Major Spectator Sports: Single-Item Measures is valid and reliable measurement tool in order to evaluate spectators’ assessment of event quality.

Abstract
Bu çalışmada Ko ve arkadaşları (2021) tarafından alan yazına kazandırılan Büyük Katılımlı Spor Organizasyonlarında Seyircilerin Etkinlik Kalitesini Değerlendirmesi: Tek Madde Ölçümü ölçeğinin Türkçe geçerlik ve güvenirliğini test etmek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklem grubunu Antalya’da gerçekleştirilen 2023 Voleybol Kadınlar Milletler Ligine katılan 241 kadın ve 129 erkek, toplam 370 voleybol seyircisi oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcıların yaş aralığı 16 ile 68 (X̄= 28.10, Ss=13.46) olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ölçeğin geçerliği için Açımlayıcı (AFA) ve doğrulayıcı faktör (DFA) analizleri kullanılmıştır. Güvenirlik hesaplaması için ise test tekrar test ve cronbach alfa iç tutarlık katsayısı yöntemleri tercih edilmiştir. Bulgulara göre Türk kültürüne uyarlanan ölçeğin orijinal formunda olduğu gibi 11 alt faktörü temsil eden 11 maddeli yapısı onaylanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, Türk kültürüne uyarlanan ölçek, büyük katılımlı spor organizasyonlarına katılan seyircilerin etkinliğin kalitesini tek madde ölçümü ile değerlendirebilmesi için geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
