Journal of Physical Education and Sports Studies provides researchers and academicians a scientific platform where they can share national and international research and stimulate to discuss critique of physical education and sports.

Journal of Physical Education and Sports Studies (JPESS) is an open access interdisciplinary periodical offering the latest research in the sport sciences. This comprehensive professional journal features studies encompassing all topics under these sections: leisure & sport management; physical activity, health & exercise; sports performance; social & behavioral sciences; and teacher education & sport pedagogy. JPESS publishes research articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses in March and September. JPESS does not publish position papers, technical notes, book reviews or letters to the editor and accepts Turkish and English language manuscripts.

Manuscript Preparation
First, subscribe to the Dergipark platform. Then upload your article according to the instructions in the system. All manuscripts must be submitted online at Journal of Physical Education and Sports Studies following the instructions below. Manuscripts that are sent via e-mail will not be considered for publication. 

General Structure

All articles should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (doc or docx) with double-spaced in Times New Roman font, 12-point type. The automatic line numbering and page numbering functions to number the lines and pages should be used in the main text.

Three separate documents under the following titles must be uploaded for all articles:
1. Title page
2. Main Text
3. Copyright Agreement and Authorship Forms

Article Types
Review
Review articles survey recent developments in a topical area of sport sciences. Review articles are usually invited by the Editor or Associate Editors. Self-invited manuscripts would be considered only if the authors are highly reputable demonstrated by a track record of productivity in the relevant field being reviewed. Systematic review and meta-analysis should follow the EQUATOR Reporting Guidelines (https://www.equator-network.org/reporting-guidelines/prisma/). The main text should start with Abstract, Introduction and end with Conclusion and References sections. Authors may choose to use any subheading in between those sections.


Research Article
Research articles present original empirical and theoretical research on various aspects of sports sciences.

1. Title Page
Please indicate this file's name as: Title Page. The title page should contain the following information:

Manuscript Title: Should be clear, descriptive, and not too long.

Running Head: Limited to 50 characters in length, including spaces.

Authors’ Full Name(s) and Surname(s) without academic degrees or titles.

ORCID ID all Author(s) (http://orcid.org/)

Authors’ Affiliations and e-mail(s): Author’s affiliation should only includes her/his department, university, city, and country, respectively.

Contact details for the corresponding author: The name, institution, mail address, telephone number, and e-mail address of the corresponding author.

Acknowledgements:  Information concerning financial support, technical assistance, and intellectual contributions not associated with authorship should be provided. Please also indicate study-specific approval by the appropriate ethics committee for research involving humans, and informed consent if the research involved human participants. It is the responsibility of all authors to include the appropriate disclosures and declarations.

Conflict of interest declaration: Information concerning conflict of interest should be provided if necessary.

2. Main Text
Please indicate this file's name as: Blind Main Text and don't mention any information regarding the author(s)' personal information. Main Text should include the manuscript title in capital letters. The main text must contain the following sections with titles ; Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

The abstract should be limited to 250 words, followed by 4 - 6 keywords that are not used in the title. The abstract should include sentences (without titles) related to the aim of the study, methods, results, and conclusions. Also, from non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided. However, if necessary, they should be defined in the first mentioned place in the abstract.

All references must be written according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th ed.) citation format (known as APA 7). For further information, please visit the website https://apastyle.apa.org/

Reference can be made to sources in text (Alagün & Gürsel, 2019). If multiple sources are given, this should be done in alphabetical order. If the names are the same, years should be considered. For a work with three or more authors, include the name of only the first author plus “et al.” in every citation, including the first citation (Tsuda et al., 2022). Publication Ethics

The publication process at Journal of Physical Education and Sports Studies is the basis of the improvement and dissemination of information objectively and respectfully. Therefore, the procedures in this process improve the quality of the studies. Peer-reviewed studies are the ones that support and materialize the scientific method. At this point, it is of utmost importance that all parties included in the publication process (authors, readers and researchers, publisher, reviewers and editors) comply with the standards of ethical considerations. Journal of Physical Education and Sports Studies expects all parties to hold the following ethical responsibilities.
The following ethical duties and responsibilities are written in the light of the guide and policies made by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
The authors who submit their manuscripts to Journal of Physical Education and Sports Studies are expected to comply with the following ethical responsibilities:
• Author(s) must submit original studies to the journal. If they utilize or use other studies, they must make the in-text and end-text references accurately and completely.
• People who have not contributed to the study at the intellectual level should not be indicated as author.
• If the manuscripts submitted to be published are subject of conflicting interests or relations, these must be explained.
• During the review process of their manuscripts, author(s) may be asked to supply raw data. In such a case, author(s) should be ready to submit such data and information to the editorial board.
• Author(s) should document that they have the participants' consent and the necessary permissions related with the sharing and research/analysis of the data that are used.
• Author(s) bears the responsibility to inform the editor of the journal or publisher if they happen to notice a mistake in their study which is in early release or publication process and to cooperate with the editors during the correction or withdrawal process.
• Authors cannot submit their studies to multiple journals simultaneously. Each submission can be made only after the previous one is completed. A study published in another journal cannot be submitted to Journal of Physical Education and Sports Studies.
• Author responsibilities given in a study (e.g., adding an author, reordering of author names) cannot be changed if the review process has begun.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
The fact that all manuscripts are reviewed through “Blind Review” has a direct influence on the publication quality. This process ensures confidentiality by objective and independent review. The review process at Journal of Physical Education and Sports Studies is carried out on the principle of double blind review. Reviewers do not contact the authors directly, and the reviews and comments are conveyed through the journal management system. In this process, the reviewer comments on the evaluation forms and full texts are assigned to the author(s) by the editor. In this context, the reviewers doing review work for Journal of Physical Education and Sports Studies are supposed to bear the following ethical responsibilities:

Reviewers must
• Agree to review only in their subject of expertise.
• Review in an unbiased and confidential manner.
• Inform the editor of the journal if they think that they encounter conflict of interests and decline to review the manuscript during the review process.
• Dispose the manuscripts they have reviewed in accordance with the principle of confidentiality after the review process. Reviewers can use the final versions of the manuscripts they have reviewed only after publication.
• review the manuscript objectively and only in terms of its content and ensure that nationality, gender, religious and political beliefs, and economic apprehension do not influence the review.
• review the manuscript in a constructive and kind tone, avoid making personal comments including hostility, slander and insult.
• review the manuscript they have agreed to review on time and in accordance with the ethical rules stated above. 

Journal of Physical Education and Sports Studies (JPESS) does not charge any fee for the submission, evaluation and publication of the articles. Authors do not pay article processing fees or submission fees for the studies they submit to the journal. All expenses of the journal are covered by Physical Education Teachers Association of Turkey (TUBED).
