Fiziksel Aktivite Teşvikinde Sınıf-Temelli Fiziksel Aktivite Uygulamaları (STFAU)

Abstract

Çocuk ve gençler arasında sedanter yaşamın artması ve obezitenin yaygın bir sorun olması nedeniyle düzenli fiziksel aktiviteye katılım bir halk sağlığı önceliğidir. Fiziksel aktivitenin teşvik edilmesinde okullar kilit bir rol oynamaktadır. Okul beden eğitimi programlarının günlük fiziksel aktivite süresini karşılamada yetersiz kalması nedeniyle fiziksel aktivite teşviki okul temelli bütüncül bir anlayışla ele alınmalıdır. Okul temelli fiziksel aktivite uygulamalarının önemli bir bileşeni de fiziksel aktivitenin okul gününe dahil edilmesi ve sınıfa taşınmasıdır. STFAU, sınıfta fiziksel aktivite molaları verme ve öğretim sürecinde fiziksel aktiviteden yararlanma şeklinde uygulanabilir. Bu araştırma okul temelli fiziksel aktivite programların önemli bir parçası olan STFAU’nun içeriği ve kapsamına dair bilgiler sunulmasını ve konunun Türkçe literatüre tanıtılmasını amaçlamaktadır. STFAU tüm öğretmenlerin her sınıf seviyesinde kullanabileceği, maliyet gerektirmeyen ve ek bir ekipmana ihtiyaç duymadan sınıf içinde sıraların yanında veya boş bir alanda uygulanabilecek fiziksel aktivitelerdir. Araştırmalar sınıf-temelli fiziksel aktivitelerin öğrencilerin akademik başarısını desteklediğini, odaklanma, dikkat ve motivasyonunu arttırdığını, öğrenmeyi kolaylaştırdığını ve onları uzun süre hareketsiz kalmaktan kurtardığını ortaya koymaktadır. Dolayısıyla mevcut çalışmanın ilgili araştırma alanındaki boşluğun doldurulmasına katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

Abstract

Regular participation in physical activity is a public health priority due to the increase in sedentary life and widespread of obesity issue among children and young people. Schools play a pivotal role in promoting physical activity. Physical activity promotion should be addressed with a school-based holistic approach since school physical education is insufficient to meet the daily physical activity. A crucial component of school-based physical activity interventions is integrating physical activity into the school day and bringing it into the classroom. CBFAPs can be implemented by offering physical activity breaks during classroom instruction and using physical activity to teach academic content. This research aims to provide knowledge about the content and scope of CBFAPs, which is an essential part of school-based physical activity programs, and to introduce this issue to Turkish literature. CBFAPs are physical activities that may be used by all teachers and at all grade levels, cost-free and may be implemented next to the desks or in an empty space in the classroom without additional equipment. Research reveals that classroom-based physical activities support students' academic success, increase their focus, attention and motivation, facilitate learning and prevent them from being inactive for a long time. For this reason, it is thought that the current study will contribute to filling the research gap in the related research area.
