Investigation of Graduate Thesis Studies on Electronic Books Completed Between 2006-2020 in Turkey

Abstract

The opportunities provided by the developing technologies continue to be effective in educational environments as in every field. Various applications are used in learning environments with the idea of enriching and supporting learning environments with different educational technology possibilities. The importance of online education media and materials has increased with the COVID-19 pandemic, which has been used around the world for more than twenty-five years. With the effect of the intensification of applications, electronic books (e-books) have become even more popular. In this study, the adaptation of education and e-books between the years 2006-2020 in order to examine the use of content through the analysis work includes examining the master's and doctoral theses have been made in Turkey. In this study, 39 thesis accessed through YÖK Thesis Center were systematically examined. According to the results of the research, it was revealed that the most thesis on e-books were carried out in 2019, the majority of theses were written in Turkish, and master theses were concentrated. Most thesis were written in Gazi University, educational sciences institutes and Computer Education and Instructional Technologies (CEIT) departments of different universities. The most commonly used research method was the mixed method, the most used data collection tool is interview, and the most preferred thesis sample is undergraduate students. The most preferred sample size in the studies is between 31-100 people, data collection time is between 31-100 days, Multimedia Learning Theory is used the most in model / theory selection and the most preferred purpose theme is "e-books been reached the results of the evaluation.

Elektronik Kitap Konusunda Türkiye’de 2006-2020 Yılları Arasında Tamamlanmış Lisansüstü Tez Çalışmalarının İncelenmesi

Abstract

Gelişen teknolojilerin sağladığı olanaklar her alanda olduğu gibi eğitim ortamlarında da etkisini sürdürmektedir. Farklı eğitim teknolojisi olanaklarıyla öğrenme ortamlarının zenginleştirilip desteklenmesi düşüncesiyle çeşitli uygulamalar öğrenme ortamlarında kullanılmaktadır. Dünya çapında yirmi beş yılı aşkın süredir kullanılan çevrimiçi eğitim ortam ve materyallerinin önemi COVID-19 pandemisiyle artmıştır. Bu çalışma, e-kitapların eğitime uyarlanması ve çalışmalarda kullanımını içerik analizi yoluyla incelemek amacıyla 2006-2020 yılları arasında Türkiye’de yapılmış olan yüksek lisans ve doktora tezlerinin incelenmesini kapsamaktadır. Çalışmada YÖK Tez Merkezi üzerinden ulaşılan 39 adet tez çalışması sistematik olarak incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre e-kitap konusunda en fazla tez çalışmasının 2019 yılında gerçekleştiği, tezlerin büyük çoğunluğunun Türkçe yazıldığı ve yüksek lisans tezlerinin yoğunlukta olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. En fazla tez Gazi Üniversitesi’nde, eğitim bilimleri enstitülerinde ve farklı üniversitelerin Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Eğitimi (BÖTE) bölümlerinde yazılmıştır. Konuyla ilgili tez çalışmalarında en fazla kullanılan araştırma yöntemi karma yöntem, en fazla kullanılan veri toplama aracı görüşme, en fazla tercih edilen tez örneklemi lisans düzeyindeki öğrencilerdir. Çalışmalarda en çok tercih edilen örneklem büyüklüğünün 31-100 kişi arasında değiştiği, veri toplama sürelerinin en fazla 31-100 gün arasında olduğu, model/kuram seçiminde en fazla Çoklu Ortam Öğrenme Kuramı’nın kullanıldığı ve en fazla tercih edilen amaç temasının “e-kitapların değerlendirilmesi” olduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.
